Source of our values
Mentoring is encouraged in the bible (see
passages below) and the CMA aims to promote and encourage the use of this powerful discipleship tool in today’s world.
2 Timothy 2:2 (Amp) And the [instructions] which you have heard
from me along with many witnesses, transmit and entrust [as a deposit] to reliable and faithful men who will be competent and
qualified to teach others also.
Titus 2:3-5 (NLT) Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way
that honours God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. 4 These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and
their children, 5 to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of
God.
The principles that undergird Christian mentoring are predicated on biblical values from which we have derived our values.
